Barbara L. Olinger, 85, passed away on September 5, 2017. She was born in Fort Wayne, IN on December 18, 1931. She was the daughter of the late David and Ireta (Cutler) Gillie. Barbara was a 1950 graduate of Central High School. She enjoyed painting, bowling and playing euchre. She was a member of the Lion's Club. Known as the "Sucker Lady" at Fort Wayne Turner's, Barbara would give all the kids suckers and have them say "please and thank you." Barbara worked at J.C. O'Connor and Sons for 13 years, and then worked as payroll director at IPFW until her retirement. Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Budd Olinger; son, Jon (Lisa) Olinger; grandchildren, Carrie (Adam) Lowe, Allison Olinger; and great-grandchildren, Jaydan, Devin, D'Arlen, and Arlef. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Tom and Bob Gillie. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 6pm at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, IN 46805. Visitation will also be Friday at the funeral home from 2 to 6pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Fort Wayne Turners building fund.
