Barbara "Meemo" Wells, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 in Fort Wayne surrounded by the family she adored. Born in Mount Kisco, NY, she graduated from John Jay High School in Katonah, NY. Later she received her degree from the Washington School for Secretaries. Barb worked as an executive assistant with Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation and as a records clerk with the Fort Wayne Police Department before her retirement. Surviving are her sons, Ken (Kathy) Wells and Kevin (Sarai Spears Wells) Wells both of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Ashley (Brandon) Fenbert, and Tyler (Jackie Hernandez) Wells; great-grandchildren, Haley and Easton Fenbert; and many nieces and nephews. Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and May B. Phelan; sister, Doris Krauss; brother, Bruce Phelan; and daughter-in-law, Diana Carroll Wells. Service is 10:30 am, Monday, January 29, 2018 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road with calling one hour prior.
