He graduated from Wayne High School in 1972.
Barry proudly served with Allen County Sheriff's Department for 33 years, from 1977, until his retirement in 2010.
He is survived by his wife Margaret “Pegi” Cartwright, son Jason Lee (Michelle) Cartwright, daughter, Ashley (Alvin) McCoy all of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Aspen, Cooper, Savanah, and Ryleigh Cartwright.
Barry was preceded in death by his brother Dan Cartwright and a sister, Patty Martin.
A Celebration of life will be held at a future time.
