

Bernard “Bernie” John Adams Jr., 82, went to be with the Lord on March 18, 2025, at his home in New Haven, Indiana surrounded by his wife and children. He was born on April 22, 1942, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of the late Bernard John & Mary Adams (Piercy ).
He was a Graduate of North Side High School in 1960. He later obtained his bachelor’s degree in Tool Engineering and Business Management. Upon graduating in 1968, he obtained employment at Aro Corporation/Inger-soll Rand in Bryan, Ohio. He retired 34 years later as their Environmental Engineering Manager and was very involved in the community. After retirement he married his wife, Patricia, of 23 years, January 18, 2002, and relocated to New Haven, Indiana. He was a member of Lifeway Wesleyan Church in New Haven, Indiana.
Bernie loved his family, grandkids, great grandkids, and his Sisters Vacations. Loved to reminisce about all the adventures they had. His favorite vacation was Mt. Cadillac Island, Maine. He was an avid reader which filled him with so much knowledge and kept his mind sharp until the very end. He had a lifelong love for Indiana Basketball, Notre Dame Football, and Southern Indiana, which he called God’s Country! In his last days he spoke a lot about being able to go see his Mommy that he lost at the young age of 9. Being raised in an orphanage with his siblings, it shaped the man that he became.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Adams (Piercy), Sisters, Baby Rose Adams, who died at birth, Mary Lou Schneider, Joyce Bruton, and father Bernard John Adams Sr.
Survived by his wife, Patricia Adams (James), sisters, Beverly Harris, Rita Bevans, Bernadette Hall; Brother, Tom Adams (Elsie); Brother-in-Law, Joe Bruton; 6 kids, Bernard J Adams III (Debbie), Larry Adams (Terry), Jon Adams (Tracy), Tony Adams (Katie), Elizabeth Adams (Joel), Scott Adams (Loralie), 3 step-kids, Bradley Roose (Mandi), Jennifer Hummel (Nikolas), Douglas Roose (Tiffany); 23 Grandkids and even more Great Grandkids.
In honor of his wishes, there will be no Celebration of Life. If anyone would like to make donation in his memory, donations may be made to Lifeway Wesleyan Church, New Haven, Indiana, or Eloise Hospice.
