Bernice “Lorraine” Oakman, 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December, 10, 2023. She was born in Johnstown, PA on July 2, 1931 and was married to Floyd Oakman for 65 years. Lorraine was employed and retired from Northrop High School.
She loved walking daily with her dog, water aerobics, yoga, board games and crafting. She was a super competitive canasta and pinochle player and rejoiced in beating her family and friends. Lorraine and Floyd enjoyed camping with friends and their frequent trips to Hershey, PA as part of the alumni family for the school.
Surviving are her children, Jo (Gus) Rohleder, Doug Oakman, Jeff Oakman and Cathy (Steve) Nancarrow; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister and one brother. Lorraine was proceeded in death by her husband Floyd; daughter-in-law Laura Oakman; five brothers and one sister.
Visitation is at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN on December 15, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Funeral service is 1:30 p.m. with burial immediately following in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
