Berniece worked as a seamstress for a number of years prior to her retirement at Parkview Hospital. She was a member of the Third Street Church of God for over 75 years and also served as their book keeper for a number of years. More than anything, she loved her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, David (Ann) Smith; son-in-law, Chuck (Karen) Dewey; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benton "Benny" Smith; daughter, Sandra Dewey; and one grandson, Charlie Dewey II.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne. Calling will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service.
Burial to take place in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
