Monday, May 31, 2021. She was born August 23, 1934 in Cleveland,
Tennessee, to the late Claude Henry Mowery and Clyde Beatrice
(Thurman) (Mowery) Spicer. Her step-father, William Spicer, moved the
family to Fort Wayne, Indiana in the early 1950's. Betty married Donald E.
Brunner on April 12, 1952.
Betty's secular work included food prep at the Hall's Original Drive Inn
on Bluffton Road, Murphy's 5 & Dime and the Wayne Knitting Mill in
downtown Fort Wayne. She then became a mother and a homemaker.
She was a member of the Van Wert Congregation of Jehovah's
Witnesses. She enjoyed teaching others about God's Kingdom. Betty
dedicated her life to Jehovah God on September 15, 1956, and faithfully
served up until her death.
Betty enjoyed looking for and trying new recipes. People always raved about her cooking. One of her past times was looking through magazines to get new ideas for home decor. Betty and Don moved many times throughout their lives, so she had many experiences in decorating homes. She even made a photo album of all the homes they lived in.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Donna J. Fifer; son-in-law, Michael
A. Fifer; sisters, Alana Spicer and Kay Spicer; and a sister-in-law, Nancy J.
Oberlin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Brunner;
father, Claude Henry Mowery; mother, Clyde Beatrice (Thurman) Spicer;
step father, William Spicer; brothers, Paul Mowery, Jerry Mowery and
William “Billy” Spicer; sisters, Barbara (Mowery) (Hollinger) Harting and
Joyce Wheeler.
