Betty Jean Graney, 89, passed away, Tuesday, April 22, 2014 after a brave battle with cancer. She was born on November 13, 1924 in Fort Wayne to the late Carl and Annabelle (Jones) Cox. She worked as a homemaker raising her family. Later in life she enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles and word searches. She is survived by her children, Julie Wittwer and Daniel (Rhonda) Graney; grandchildren, Kristina, William, and Tessa; and a brother, Bob Cox. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Graney on September 24, 1988; two sisters; and four brothers. A memorial service will held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Elzey Patterson Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Ft. Wayne, IN 46809 with a gathering of friends and family one hour prior. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Southern Care Hospice.
