Betty Jean (Behrman) Shuster, 95, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 10:43 a.m. on Friday, August 6, 2021 at Ashton Creek. Born May 10, 1926 in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Velma (Koehlinger) Behrman. She graduated from South Side High School and had an Associate’s Degree from Fort Wayne Business College. She worked as a supervisor at Lincoln National Life Ins. Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1990. She attended Gethsemane Lutheran Church where she was active in volunteering. She was a member of the church council, was chairperson of the fellowship ministry, and was a member of the administration and worship ministries. She was also a member of the XYV volunteer group. Surviving are her sons, Kirk Shuster and Thomas (Debra) Shuster; daughters, Cathy Verhest and Gayle Shuster; grandchildren, Jason (Katie) Burton, Heather Shuster, and Stacy Doan; and eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Shuster; grandson, Mark Shuster; sister, Carol Doan; and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Shuster. Memorial Service is 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 1505 Bethany Lane, Fort Wayne. Masks are optional for those who have been vaccinated.
