Beverly Koeneman and Henry P. Wehrenberg were married in 1953. They loved and raised three children. After 38 years together Henry passed away in 1991.
Beverly attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School, North Side High School, Stephens College in Columbia, MO and graduated from Indiana University with B.S and M.S degrees in Education. She was a teacher for 23 years with Fort Wayne Community Schools and retired in 1986.
She was an active member of Phi Mu Sorority and Delta Associate of Tri Kappa. Beverly was a life long member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved spending summers at the family cottage on Clear Lake, IN.
Beverly married Kenneth W. Maxfield in 1995 with whom their retirement years were divided between Fort Wayne, IN, Clear Lake, IN and Naples, FL.
Surviving is her son, Scott H. Wehrenberg of Fremont, IN; her daughter, Lynn A. Wehrenberg, of Fort Wayne, IN; and her grandson Anthony D. Bowen (Julie Nadel) of NYC.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Henry P. Wehrenberg in 1991, her second husband Kenneth W. Maxfield in 2013, her son, Mark A. Wehrenberg in 1995, and her sister, Nila Armstrong in 2012.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Monday November, 6, 2023 at St. Paul‘s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1126 Barr St. Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, IN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church 1126 Barr St. Fort Wayne, IN; Clear Lake Township Conservancy 111 Gecowets Dr. Fremont, IN 46737 or donor’s choice.
