

Bonnie Joan (Kinerk) Andrews was born on June 25, 1933 in Fort Wayne, to the late Edward and Edith (Mason) Kinerk. She departed this life on Sunday, May 14, 2023. Bonnie was the firstborn child of three children. She was a South Side High School graduate in the class of 1951, and also graduated from IPFW later in life.
Shortly after graduation, Bonnie married J. D. Andrews II. They were blessed with six children. Ravana Louise, James Dallas III, Tambra Irene, Charlton Edward, Elisabeth Marie, and Rebecca Ruth.
Bonnie worked many jobs but will be mostly remembered for her work at Fort Wayne Police Department where she was employed for over 40 years. Bonnie became a well-known fixture in the East Central Neighborhood Association; highly involved in the protection of the neighborhood and its people. She was a community activist who would fight for the equality of all mankind. Upon retiring, she became a world traveler. Visiting places such as Argentina, Spain, England, Ireland, Iceland, France, Italy, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Cuba, Barbados, Czech Republic, to name just a few.
Bonnie leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Jim (Dolores) Andrews, Chuck Andrews, her daughters, Liz Andrews, Becky (Tony) Ridley, 22 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and a host of other family and friends.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and younger brothers, Gerald Kinerk and Nelson Kinerk, and her daughters, Mickey Andrews and Tammy Brown.
The Celebration of Life will be held on June 24th, 2023 at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 5310 Old Mill Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46807 at 1 pm.
