Bruce Henry Gerdom, 62, of Fort Wayne, passed away on February 25, 2026, at Stillwater Hospice. Born October 3, 1963, in Delphi, Ind., he was a son of the late Henry F. Gerdom and Beverly (Kalsich) Gibson, who survives and resides in Lancashire, England. He was a graduate of Snider High School, class of 1982. Bruce was a union member of Laborers’ 213 and concrete laborer with Brooks 1st Construction Co. for 30 years, from which he retired in 2022. After retirement, he went back into construction taking on a project superintendent role at Strebig Construction, for the past three years. He was a 20+ year member and former trustee of Eagles Aerie 3512. Bruce enjoyed woodworking and was excellent at building things and creating things with his hands. He loved camping with family and friends, having camped in his trailer at many state parks throughout Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and the Upper Peninsula; especially frequenting Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Munising; his favorite place on Earth. He was fond of NASCAR, his favorite driver being Kyle Larson, and was a Green Bay Packer fan in which he proudly owned a share of the team. After his recent diagnosis, Bruce decided to bring his lifelong passion for Corvettes to reality by having purchased a gray, 2001 Corvette convertible. He enjoyed many rides, detailing it, and tinkering with it in his garage. A people-person, he loved his family and would always help a friend or family member in need. He was happy and lived life to the fullest. He is also survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Angela (Barnum) Gerdom of Fort Wayne; daughter, Chynna (Scott) Clemence of Fort Wayne; son, Evan (Wesley Cowan) Gerdom of New Haven, Ind.; five grandchildren, Mariah, Brayella, Deverlynn, Zenner, and Haddix Clemence, and a soon-to-be granddaughter on the way; brothers, Martin (Liz) Gerdom of San Diego, Calif., and Andy (Susan) Gerdom of Carmel, Ind.; nephews, Alex and Christopher Gerdom; nieces, Michelle (Tanner) Keyzers and Sara Gerdom; beloved cat, Rocky; and a host of friends. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at Eagles Lodge, 2730 Lofty Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46808, on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
