Bryce Milton Brown, 83, passed away on October 12, 2026, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born on December 16, 1942, in Vallejo, California, and was raised in Salinas, California. Bryce was the oldest of six children of the late Bryce and Ivy Brown. He lived in the Seattle area for over 50 years before moving to Fort Wayne in 2022.
Bryce was a programmer, project manager, and educator with the Boeing Company for more than 30 years. Prior to his time at Boeing, he attended Palma High School in Salinas, California, Santa Clara University, and then a graduate program at Seattle University. During his time at Boeing, he also served as a professor at City University in Seattle and Bellevue Community College, where he taught project management and computer programming. Bryce’s skills as an educator led to invitations to teach courses in China, Greece, and other parts of the world.
Committed to physical health, Bryce played in adult softball and soccer leagues in Renton, WA. He coached every sport his son played. From his passion for coaching soccer, he became a lifelong fan of the sport and was devoted to the Seattle Sounders and Fort Wayne FC. He was a familiar presence at the YMCA each day and took pride in participating in marathons. He loved to hike wherever he went and always made friends on the trail.
Bryce found joy in music as well; he enjoyed singing and served as Director of the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church children’s choir in Renton, playing piano and guitar with his daughters, serving as cantor at St. Anthony’s and joining a choir in Ft. Wayne.
Bryce and his wife Carly also shared a love of travel, especially cruises, embracing new places and experiences together. They enjoyed working together at Seattle Mariners baseball games, and all the friends they met there. With the same kind-hearted devotion that shaped every part of his life, he volunteered in community service efforts supporting individuals experiencing homelessness.
His adventurous spirit and generous heart were evident in the way he engaged the world—always welcoming, always ready to connect.
He was deeply cherished by those who knew him, and his warmth made others feel at ease, as he truly never met a stranger. Bryce also deeply valued his relationships with his brothers, sisters, and extended family, calling, texting, and visiting as often as he could to uphold family connections.
Bryce is survived by his wife, Carly Richards of Fort Wayne, IN; children, Mary (Paul) Cummings of CT; Bryce (Alice Zillah) Brown of Tucson, AZ; Carrie (Michael) Adelman of Auburn, WA; and Sara (Patrick) Morris of Kent, WA; siblings, Michael (Kathy) Brown, Larry Brown, Laura De La Motte, and Mary Jane (Greg Kropf) Hills; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rosalind Brown; daughter, Lisa Brown (partner Gerry Mayberry survives); and his sister, Linda Vogel (her partner, Kevin Vogel survives).
The Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am. Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Rd, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation one hour prior.
