Carlena Sue McKee

Carlena Sue McKee, 82, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Carlena was born May 22, 1943 in Kitts, Kentucky where she spent her childhood. Later on, she moved with her family to Chicago, IL, where she eventually raised her family. Carlena was always smiling and had a contagious laugh. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her beloved grand dogs. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, fishing and camping. She loved attending plays with her sister Rita. She was an accomplished seamstress and made the best chicken and dumplings that she loved to share.

Surviving are her children, Kirk (Emmarie) Burger of Glen Ellyn, IL, Brian (Kayla) Burger of Watertown, WI, Eric (Sharon) Burger of Round Lake Beach, IL, and Dr. Vicki (Jen Sousa) McKee of Marengo, IL; brother, Wally (Heidi) Goodin of Wonder Lake, IL; sister, Rita Goodin of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Maya Burger, Coleton Sousa, Christopher Sousa and Teddy Burger; great-grandson, Owen Sousa; step children, Paul, Mindy, and Laura; step grandchildren; and step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Goodridge, Sr.; mother, Juanita (Sanders) Booker; stepfather, Robert Booker; and brother, Terry Goodin.

A celebration of Carlena’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2025 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 393 North Main St., Glen Ellyn, IL 60137. A luncheon will be held following the service at Rosemary & Jean’s, 116 South Main St., Lombard, IL 60148.
