CAROL J. HINES, 80, of Fort Wayne, died on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at Provena Sacred Heart Home, Avilla. Born Dec. 23, 1930, in Elkhart, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Edith (Anglemyer) Ummel. She was an avid Cubs fan, who never missed watching a game. She is survived by a daughter, Maxine Bufink; grandsons, Dave (Beth) Bufink and Steve (April) Bufink; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Kianna, and Ethan; brothers, Eldon and Herbert Ummel; and sisters, Joan Kirkham, Lios Knouff and Phyllis Swick. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; daughter, Patsy Shannon; and brothers, Richard, Robert, Stanley, and Max. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St., with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at the funeral home. Burial at Highland Park Cemetery.
