She was born on August 12, 1944, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Carol worked for Rea Magnet Wire for 32 years, and in retirement enjoyed a second, treasured, career in her church’s preschool.
She loved singing in her church choir, reading, and spending time with family.
Carol is survived by an abundance of loving family, including her sisters-in-law, Diana (Lowell) Pape and Jeannie (Neal) Pape; her nieces, Kristine Brannock, Jill Boocock, & Holly Edwards (Chris); her nephews, Jeff (Julie) Pape & Tim (Becky) Pape; great nieces & nephews; as well as Norm’s extensive family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Eugene Leas; daughter, Lana Dee Leas; parents, Maurice Amiel Pape & Alta Armina Pape; & brothers, Lowell Pape and Neal Pape.
Funeral service is at 12:00 pm on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Covenant United Methodist Church, 10001 Coldwater Road, Fort Wayne, with calling at 10:00 am.
