I used to love it when my folks (Lucy and Fred Haines) had bridge club at our house. The house was filled with noise and laughter and friendship for many years. My sympathies.

My first memory of Cal and Carol is the remembrance of being tucked into bed at your house when I was little while our folks played cards. As the years went on we grew and moved on but our folks always remained a constant......and still played cards! I still have the beautiful moonstone earrings from your parents that I received when I graduated from South Side - 52 years ago.
But what I remember most about your mom is her travels. For so many years I couldn't get over the fact that she jaunted off by herself and explored the world. As it turns out, she has served as an inspiration for me. I have hit the trails now on numerous journeys and to be honest.....I always had a quick thought of her.
Your mom was always so kind to me. After the death of my mom and dad we kept in touch for several years, but I let it slide in the last several. Last week, on Wednesday, the thought of your folks walked across my mind. Now I know it was angels telling me I put getting in touch with her off too long. My loss,
Prayers go to your dad and the rest of you. I will always remember your mom with great fondness. She was a blessing.

Karen, I am sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. I lost my mom and dad a few years back 2013 and 2016..my dad was lost without her. I have thought of you from time to time, wondering how you were doing. I remember your mom a little, but mostly was wowed by all of the school supplies you guys had in a drawer. Crazy how you remember some things! Wishing your family peace and comfort. Fondly, Shelley Sery Woehnker

I had the privilege of being one of Carols caregivers. She was an amazing lady. I loved her travel stories! She will be missed!

I always admired Carol's strength and independence, traveling around the world by herself when she was older. She was one of a kind.
