Born on December 24, 1942, in Anderson, Indiana, Kerrie Sue was the daughter of Max Eaton and Ruth Singleton. She graduated from Madison Heights High School before earning her Associate’s Degree from Ball State University. She began her career as an office secretary before choosing to devote herself to raising her family as a homemaker.
Kerrie Sue married Daniel A. Roby, and together they raised their daughter, Kerilynn (Keri). Although their marriage later ended, they shared many wonderful years together. In 2005, Kerrie Sue married Charles “Chuck” Arnstein, with whom she shared many great years until his passing in December 2025.
Kerrie Sue had a remarkable gift for making life feel special. She loved golfing during the summer months and looked forward to bowling each winter. She found joy in taking ceramics classes, creating beautiful pieces that have become cherished family heirlooms for those she loved.
Christmas was her favorite season, but every holiday was an opportunity to create lasting memories. She delighted in decorating her home throughout the year and was known for making festive cakes that celebrated each occasion. Whether it was a bunny or baby chick cake for Easter, a shamrock-shaped cake for her daughter born on St. Patrick’s Day, or another whimsical creation, she made every celebration memorable. These thoughtful traditions became treasured memories that her family will carry with them always.
Above all else, Kerrie Sue loved her family. She was a devoted mother, a proud Grandma to Connor Minns, and a loving “Grandma Kerrie” to her great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Malcolm. She had a warm and welcoming spirit that made others feel comfortable from the moment they met her. Her kindness touched everyone she encountered. Even during her final hospitalization, the nurses who cared for her spoke of what a joy she was to have as a patient—a reflection of the gracious, thoughtful woman she remained throughout her life.
Kerrie Sue is survived by her daughter, Keri Roby; her grandson, Connor Minns; her great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Malcolm; along with extended family and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Arnstein; her former husband, Daniel A. Roby; her parents, Max Eaton and Ruth Singleton; her stepmother, Maxine Eaton, and her stepfather, Richard Talbert.
To those who knew and loved her, she was simply “Kerrie Sue.” She will be remembered for her gentle heart, her creativity, her generosity, the traditions she created, and the countless ways she made ordinary days feel extraordinary. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and in the memories that will forever bring smiles to those who were blessed to know her.
