

Celia M (Hartmann) Haller, 82, of Fort Wayne, died peacefully on October 26th, 2011, at Parkview Hospital. Born in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Paul H and Hulda (Tielker) Hartmann. She was a member of Trinity English Lutheran Church. She graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School and Valparaiso University. Celia and her sorority sisters started a round robin letter upon graduation from Valpo in 1950 which is still circulating today. She taught home economics and later, honors English at Concordia Lutheran High School, retiring in 1976. It was while teaching at Concordia that she met Robert Haller. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last week. She served in numerous capacities at Trinity English Lutheran Church and was a member of Psi Iota Xi. She was the first woman to serve on the Concordia Foundation Board of Directors. Celia was an accomplished seamstress and gourmet cook. She enjoyed spending time at Lake George, MI, and in Fort Myers Beach FL., spending time with her family, reading, writing and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Robert William; sister Caroline L. Zill, Clearwater, FL; brother Paul David Hartmann of Omaha, NE; children Robert William II (Beth) of Syracuse, IN; Paul Harry (Judy) of Colorado Springs, CO; Carol Marie Haller of Centennial, CO; grandchildren Julia Louise Haller, Christoff Lincoln Haller, Meaghan Aine Shaha, Jonny Haller, Rachel Haller, and special grandchild Kate Colcord.
Service is 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2011, at Trinity English Lutheran Church, 405 West Wayne St., with calling one hour prior, the Rev. Frederick Hasecke officiating. Memorials to Trinity English Lutheran Church, Concordia Lutheran High School or Valparaiso University. Arrangements by Klaehn, Fahl and Melton Funeral Homes.
