Obituary of Charles Blaine Day
Charles Blaine Day, 73, of Fort Wayne, succumbed to his injuries from a blow to the head on Wednesday, December 30, 2020. Born October 20, 1947 in Pioneer, Ohio, he was a son of the late Clinton Arthur Day and Naomi I. (Kirkingburg) Day. He had served in Vietnam and received a purple heart from injuries sustained in the first month of service; but, refused to let that get him down. He went back and served five years total. He married Waneta Camp on March 10, 2003 in Williams County, Ohio, who survives and resides in Fort Wayne. He is also survived by his brother, Keith (Trudy) Day and sister, Charlotte (Dave) Greathouse, both of Bryan, Ohio; three children, Nathan Day of Bryan, Ohio; Amy (Juan) Perez of Auburn, Ind., and Judy (Charles) Hecker of Goldsboro, N.C.; three stepchildren, Tim Arend of San Diego, Calif., Rachel (Nate) Bristol of Fort Wayne, and Hannah (T.J.) Knowland of Greenwood, Ind.; grandchildren, Joshua Day of Liberty Center, Ohio, Alexis and Ashton Perez of Auburn, Ind., and Aaliyah Odem of Defiance, Ohio; two great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren, Drew, Lydia, and Libby Bristol, all of Fort Wayne; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Ruthetta Day and Priscilla “Pat” Partee; and one grandson, Alexander Day. “What he lacked in body, he made for it in Bravado”.
