Charles "Chuck" Earl Manor

Charles “Chuck” Earl Manor, 83, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on July 24, 2026. He was born on February 23, 1943, in Muncie, Indiana, to the late Charles and Clarebell (Brown) Manor. Charles was one of 3 children. He was preceded in death by his parents, his spouse; Carol (Chubbuck) Manor, both brothers; Danny and Larry Manor, and two grandchildren; Mackenzie and Natasha Davison.

Charles was a Chief Master Sergeant who served 32 years with the Air National Guard until his retirement in 1998. He was awarded a Commendation Medal in 1987 by the Governor of Indiana for demonstrating outstanding leadership and technical skills with his “can do” attitude. In 1998 upon retirement, he was awarded The Meritorious Service Medal for outstanding skills, leadership, and his contributions to the success of the Air Force programs by the Colonel, IN ANG Commander of the 122 Fighter Wing for his service to his country and the United States Air Force. He also served as the Commander at the American Legion Post 241 from1988-1989. After serving as legion commander, he was a member of the Honor Guard for 35 years proudly provided funeral memorial services for veterans.

A fan of traveling and gambling, he always looked forward to doing both as often as possible. He will be remembered for his humor, perseverance, and giving personality. Among his many fond memories with family and friends were his accomplishments along the way. In 1995, he was recognized for bowling a “772” series in the Air Guard Mixed League and his team also won league championship in 1995-1996. He enjoyed going to the American Legion, the AMVETS 33, and the VFW 1421 for a cold beer and cherished the times he was able to joke with the bartenders and tell one liner jokes to everyone around. More importantly, he found joy in making others smile and laugh in his presence.

He is survived by his two children, Craig (Lisa) Manor, and Jennifer Davison of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two grandchildren Samantha Archibald and Connor Davison; and several great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at American Legion Post 241, 7505 Bluffton Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46809.
