Christey Charles Hees Jr. 73, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born July 29, 1949 in Fort Wayne, the son of the late Christey Charles Hees Sr. and Vivian Hees Becker.
Christey graduated from South Side High School in 1967. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He was a manufacturing supervisor at Teco MTI for 25 years, Harris Kayot for 4 years, and retired from Altec in 2017. He was an avid handyman and enjoyed home projects and woodworking.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Tamera C. Hees of Fort Wayne, IN; children, Christey Charles Hees III of Fort Wayne, IN; Bryan (Meredith) Hees of Coldwater, MI; Jason (Kimberley) Hees of Los Angeles, CA; Jamie (Matthew) Felhoffer of Woodburn, IN; Jessica (David) Orta of Fort Wayne, IN; step-brother, Gary Becker of Fort Wayne, IN; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Christey was preceded in death by his step-father, Raymond Becker; brother, Charles Hees; sister, Cheryl Bohlender; and a step-sister, Crystal.
A private funeral service is being held at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Avenue, Fort Wayne, with a public visitation to take place on Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Highland Park Cemetery.
