Clayton Andrew Kordes

Clayton was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, family member, and friend. He will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, his unwavering work ethic, and the countless laughs he brought to those around him.

Anyone who knew Clayton knew he was wonderfully stubborn. Once he made up his mind, there wasn’t much changing it—and he wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. He was quick with a joke, loved to tease the people he cared about, and always had a little sass that kept everyone smiling. His humor and playful spirit made ordinary moments unforgettable.

Clayton dedicated many years to working for the City water filtration plant, a job he took great pride in. He believed in hard work, showing up, and doing things the right way. His dedication and commitment reflected the kind of man he was—dependable, determined, and someone others could count on.

Outside of work, Clayton enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He loved representing the Cleveland Indians. He also loved gathering around the table for a game of Euchre. If he happened to have the winning hand, everyone around the table was sure to know it. He enjoyed riding his Harley and most of all, he loved showing off his grandchildren.

More than anything, Clayton loved his family. Beneath his stubbornness and sense of humor was a thoughtful man with a generous heart. He expressed his love through his presence, his loyalty, and the many little things he did for those he cared about. The memories he created with his family will be treasured for generations.

Clayton was preceded in death by his mother, Anne; father, Frank; his siblings, Lorraine, Dale and Allen. Clayton is survived by his brother, Frank; children, Lori, Linda (Paul) and Michael (Tammy); his grandchildren, Lindsay (Lucas), Cassie (Logan), Austin, Alexis, Kayla, and Zach; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Aiden, Peyton, Harper, Emrys, Cohen, Presley Jo, Seth, Madelynn, Niko, Savannah, Levi, Eleni, Alexander and Daniel; along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at DO McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Pine Valley, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne (46825). A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, with a visitation one hour prior, celebrating Clayton’s life on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at the funeral home, with burial to follow.

The family asks that those who knew Clayton remember him the way he would have wanted—with stories, laughter, and maybe even a game of Euchre. Cheer for the Cleveland Indians, spend time with the people you love, and don’t be afraid to be just a little stubborn. If you have a motorcycle, take a ride in remembrance of him -- especially if it's a Harley.

Though his chair at the card table will be empty, his presence will always be felt in the laughter of his family, the stories that continue to be told, and every deck of cards that is shuffled. Clayton Andrew Kordes leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love, humor, and family that will live on in all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
