Connie Jean Ayres, 62, passed away on January 7th, 2018 after fighting a long, hard battle with kidney failure and is now at peace in the arms of her loving Lord. Connie was born on December 21, 1955 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Connie worked with the elderly community, as a nurse, for most of her life. She had a huge heart for any animal that crossed her path. Connie always provided a place for her loved ones to be themselves and to be loved without judgment and entirely unconditionally. She had a heart for those that were seen as less than fortunate. Surviving her in death are her daughter, Megan Ayres, sister, Vickie Ayres, “son-in-law” Kenneth Giboo, “granddaughter” Kathryn Giboo, “grandson” Emmett Giboo, niece Jena Henson, Emily Baker, Courtenay Dibble, and nephew Jeff Henson, great niece and nephews Madison and Carter Bray, Tony and Trevyn Baker. Connie had adopted numerous children including: Megan (Gregory) Trotter, Dee (Somkit) Linnemeijer, Brandon Garcia, Abby Else, Hannah Thomas, Kit Corps, Jama Reitenour, and Keely Rodriguez. Special friends and loved ones include: Aaron Shultz, Susan Stanley, Cindy Jackson, Deb Rommel, Brenda Mudrack, Dawn Gregory and family, Ollie Synder, Pastor Doug Croucher, Ben Bingham, Matthew Bochard, Vickey Gerardot and family, Liz Rodriguez and family, Carla Castro, Jamie Barrett, and many others. Connie was greeted in heaven by her mother, Helen Ayres, her father, William Ayres, her middle sister, Sherrie Ayres, Felix and Summer (her beloved cats), and several other friends, family, and fur-babies she has lost along the way. Special thanks to Dr. Sanjay Patel, the numerous nurses and doctors at Lutheran Hospital, staff and nurses at Davita, and to all those who loved Connie. She was truly one of a kind.
