Craig J. Hansen

Craig J. Hansen, 79, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, a longtime resident of Huntington, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026. He was born on January 24, 1947, in Jamaica, New York, a son of the late Albert C. and Elsie D. (Haug) Hansen. Craig graduated from Plainview High School on Long Island, New York, and later, Huntington College, earning an MBA. He served in the U. S. Air Force during Vietnam from 1969 to 1971, stationed in Okinawa as a Security Squad Morse System Operator. He worked at and retired after 32 years as a Senior Computer Operator at Phelps Dodge. He was a member and elder at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Huntington and more recently was attending Emmanuel Community Church, Fort Wayne. In his free time, he enjoyed playing cards and studying history, the Civil War and World War II, were his favorites. He liked watching any sport with a ball and even umpired baseball on Long Island and in Fort Wayne. He also loved spending time with his family and going to their many activities. Surviving family include his wife, Marilyn Hansen; children, Heidi Hogue, Eric (Becky) Hansen, and Curt (Jill) Hansen; grandchildren, Ryan Hogue, Jared Hansen, Clarice Hogue, Andrew Hansen, Adelynn Hansen, and Ainsley Hansen; two great grandchildren, Hadley Hogue and Rylie Hogue; and siblings, Joy (Neil) Kinsey, Richard (Marlene) Hansen, and Gay (Fritz) Bickel. Besides his parents, Craig was preceded in passing by his son-in-law, Anthony Hogue; and a grandson, Levi Hogue. A funeral service will be 11:00 am on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at The Branch - Emmanuel Community Church, 7227 Bittersweet Moors Drive, Fort Wayne, with visitation beginning at 9:30 am.
