

Cynthia A. French, 87, formerly of Ft. Wayne, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021 in Carmel. Born in Warren, IN, to the late Joseph P. Good and Goldia I. (Helvie) Good. Growing up in Warren, she was involved in the Masonic youth service organization as a Rainbow Girl. She and her brother, Tom Good, won 1st place in a music competition at the Indiana State Fair. Cynthia played the piano while Tom played the trumpet. She graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Education. Following graduation, she moved to Ft. Wayne where she taught kindergarten in the Ft. Wayne Community School System. This is when she met her future husband, Donald K French. Cynthia was an avid IU Basketball fan, enjoyed reading the newspaper daily and played tennis into her 80’s. She enjoyed spending time with her friends in book clubs, gourmet cooking clubs and bridge clubs. Don and Cynthia loved to travel the world together. Cynthia volunteered as a docent at the Hiding Place when they lived in the Netherlands and was a docent at the Ft. Wayne Museum of Art as well as the Ft. Wayne National Bank. She was a Jubilee Member of First Presbyterian Church in Fort Wayne where she was also the Chairperson of the Art Gallery. Most recently, she lived at Magnolia Springs in Carmel where she enjoyed playing bingo and trivia and was a member of the resident board.
Surviving are her, sons, Jeffrey S. (Bobbi) French of Ft. Wayne, and Stephen M. (Janet) French of Fishers; daughters, Catherine A. French of Westfield, and Amy E. (Steve) Robbins of Carmel; eight grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald K. French, brother, Tom Good, and 3 great grandchildren. Visitation is from noon to 2:00 p.m. with funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021 at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knoll Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd. Ft. Wayne, IN 46804 with Rev. Carrie Winebrenner officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Masonic Cemetery in Warren.
