Cynthia “Cindy” Sue McCall (DeVito) of Anna, TX (originally Fort Wayne, IN), peacefully passed away in her sleep at a young age of 64 on October 29th, 2023.
She was born on December 31, 1958, to Rudolph and Colleen (O’Keefe) DeVito in Fort Wayne, IN. She attended high school in Fort Wayne and went on to study at Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, graduating in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting after only 3 years.
Cindy was a devoted mother and friend to all. Her son William was her pride, and she would tell anyone who would listen. Although allergic, she had an affinity for her pet Norwegian forest cats.
She was an active member of the Prestonwood Bible Fellowship in Texas where she met many amazing people that she could share in the Lord’s teachings. Her giving nature saw her donate frequently to various animal and women’s shelters.
Over her diverse career, she worked for many notable organizations such as Harris, Children’s Hospital and MCI traversing mainly the telecom and healthcare industries.
She enjoyed traveling, crafting, making greeting cards and spending time with loved ones. Her favorite activity was chatting with others, often making them feel special through sharing past stories and memories.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William (Ariela) Matravers of Frisco, TX; sister, Kathleen DeVito of Indianapolis, IN; brother, Mark DeVito of Jackson, MI; aunts, Carolyn Holbrook, Rosie O’Keefe and Sharon O’Keefe; and nephews, Daniel, Aaron and Ross McKimmie.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Colleen and Rudolph DeVito; aunt, Patricia Jordan; uncles, Don O’Keefe, Jerry O’Keefe, Tom O’Keefe and Mike Holbrook.
A visitation for Cindy will be held Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Highland Park, 2403 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46825, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, think of your favorite charity and consider donating to them as my mother would have wanted. Giving to others was very important to her. Animal and women's shelters were her focus for donations over the years.
Memories and stories can be shared at www.AdvantageHighlandPark.com for Cindy’s family.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.AdvantageHighlandPark.com for the McCall family.
