

She was born on December 6, 1944, a daughter of the late Edward (Ed) Schelper and Nancy Bronstrup and the eldest of 12 siblings.
Cindy was the matriarch of her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy in life.
She loved to entertain with Christmas plays and themed parties, making everyone feel welcome with her generous nature. She made sure to never miss a happy birthday call. Cindy and her late husband Rick owned and operated their blueberry farm together for over 25 years, which she was very proud of. Panama City Beach was also close to her heart, where she enjoyed hosting family and friends over the years.
She is survived by her children, Diana (Ward) Stevens, Donna (A.J.) Pratt, Debbie Krauhs and David (Natasha) Spake; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Max (Susan) Hiser, Sherrie (Doug) Marker, Doug (Lisa) Hiser, Tom (Tina) Hiser, Dawn (Jim) Hergott, Randy (Janice) Schelper, Nadene (Tim) Kinderman, and Darlene Schelper. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and loved ones who cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rick Pertics; brothers, Jim, Bill and Jerry David Hiser.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, with visitation from 11 am to 1 pm.
Burial will take place immediately following in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
