Dan Russell Jones

Dan R. Jones, 74, passed peacefully July 28, 2020, at his home in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Dan was born November 23, 1945, in Alexandria, Indiana to Don and Alpha Jones. He had a lust for life and could make anyone smile whose path he crossed, especially his family and friends. He was in the Army National Guard and worked at General Electric for 42 years prior to his retirement. After retirement he became an ordained minister who performed and officiated two wedding ceremonies. Coney Island remained a favorite throughout the years, as did colorful & crazy socks & shirts, sarcasm, Bob Seger, and golfing or dining with the people most important to him. The importance of his friends cannot be stressed enough, as they felt like members of our family, and we are forever grateful for this. He is survived by his wife, Sandi Jones; his children and their spouses, Chris and Veronica Jones, Helen and Reece McCormick, Zach and Leah Jones; his step children Pete and Breein Poling; and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dee and Ray; and granddaughter Gray Monroe Poling. As one chapter closes another opens, and wherever Dan is we would like to believe he is enjoying time with those who were waiting for him. Until we meet again, we love you. No Services will be held. Celebration of Life to be determined. In lieu of flowers, have a Coney & a beer in memory of Dan and be kind to one another.
