Daniel Ray Cassaday, 71, passed away Friday, February 27, 2026. He was born May 10, 1954, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, son to the late Robert Gene and Mary Emma (Ruple) Cassaday Scarberry. Daniel was a U. S. Army Veteran and worked as a Deputy Sergeant for the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, before his retirement. Surviving is his brother, Michael Wayne (Paula) Cassaday of Fort Wayne, Indiana; niece, Heather Ann (Edwin) Thomas of Louisville, Kentucky; nephew, Nicholas Michael (Erin) Cassaday of Oswego, Illinois; great nephews, Max, Tony, and Jared; and great nieces, Jenna and Emily. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 11:00 am at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46819, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions in Daniel's memory may be made to Waynedale United Methodist Church, Humane Fort Wayne, or Great Life Church.
