Dan’s family can tell you that his fire and passion for Jesus, His Lord and Savior, did not grow dim. His love for Jesus was genuine and evident by the love and compassion he had for others and especially for his family.
Dan’s life Verse - Psalms 55:22, Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you, he will never let the righteous fall.
By faith, Dan knew who he was “in Christ” that he was redeemed, forgiven, justified, accepted, loved and he lived in the grace that God lavished on him. Eph. 1:7 & 8 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.
That grace captures the goodwill, loving kindness & favor of God that is freely given to us so that we may partake in his divine life. Grace is God’s divine aid that supernaturally empowers you to live a whole and healthy life free from sin. Titus 2:11-14, For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope – the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself to us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
Dan had a great love for his wife, Jan, of 60 years and they worshipped together at Emmanuel Community Church. They got married on October 3, 1964, at Peace Lutheran Church, in Fort Wayne. They have three children, Michele (Tom) Anderson, Andy (Julie) Clymer and Jay (Lisa) Clymer; grandchildren, Matthew (Sydney) Anderson, Jonathan (Brittany) Anderson, Nicholas Anderson, Rebecca (Zach) Griffin, Brandon Clymer, Jordyn Clymer, Candace Clymer, Katelyn (Ben) Schwartz and Tara Wieland; great-grandchildren, Evelynne and Emmett Anderson, Brooklynn and Hannah Anderson, Lincoln Griffin, Krue Walden and Ford Schwartz; brothers, Thomas (Sue Ann) Clymer and Kenneth (Anne) Clymer, sisters, Sue Ellen (Carl) Berry and Carol (Scott) Simon; and foster son, Patrich Hallenbeck.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Daniel Clymer and Bonita (Bonnie) Emrich Clymer.
Dan was a graduate of Concordia High School. He was a Machinist at Diester Machine Co. where he retired from in 2011. He enjoyed serving the Lord by giving to missions, going on mission trips, sponsoring a child in Nicaragua and, some years ago, being a foster parent to new born babies. More recently he was involved in Time to Revive Ministries sharing Jesus with others. Dan especially enjoyed family get-togethers. Most importantly Dan loved the Lord and was a sincere follower of Jesus.
