Dannie graduated from W. T. Sims High School in Holly Springs, Mississippi, in May 1966. On December 28, 1977, she married Roosevelt Johnson. Together, they built a life centered on family and shared many years of marriage.
Dannie was a dedicated employee of General Electric until her retirement in 2004. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, and visiting the casino. She especially cherished the time she spent with her family and the memories they created together.
Dannie departed this life on September 4, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Will C. Malone and Millie Mae (Boothe) Malone; three sisters, Maggie Boxley, Nellie B. Frazer, and Wyomia Malone; and three brothers, Odie Malone, Kent Malone, and Will C. Malone Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Roosevelt Johnson; her daughter, Denise (Kevin) Moss; her grandson, Daven Patton; two sisters, Catherine Coleman and Osie Russell-Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
A visitation will be held at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1151 Francis Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46803, on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed by a celebration of her life starting at 11:00 am.
She will be laid to rest in Lindenwood Cemetery immediately following the service.
