Darnell was always the life of family gatherings and parties. He was fun loving, full of jokes and big laughs. He was an intellect, who loved to discuss topics such as science and history. A wrestler, boxer, and football player, he enjoyed being athletic. An adventurous spirit, Darnell loved to explore nature, whether that was hiking, camping, and going to the lake. He also enjoyed cooking on the grill. Beyond all else, he loved his family and would defend them at all costs, even if he was struggling. He was a Veteran of the Armed Services and a welder by trade.
He leaves to cherish his memory, 3 daughters, Egypt Cain, Aysha Cain and Erica Quillen, his parents, Douglas Keith Cain and Beverly Cain, 2 brothers, Rick Cain and Doug Allen Cain, two grandchildren as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lana Rae Cain.
A Celebration of Life will privately take place for family and close friends on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 1PM, with a memorial service taking place at 2PM at Advantage Funeral Home 2114 S Calhoun St, Fort Wayne, IN, 46808. We kindly request in respect of the family that anyone who may be feeling ill, please remain at home.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord – Romans 8:38-39.
