Darrell Alan Pointer, 74, was welcomed into Heaven on February 19, 2026. He was born on April 11, 1951, in Cassopolis, Michigan, son of the late Denver and Barbara (Gilchrist) Pointer. Darrell was a 1969 graduate of Cassopolis High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Anderson University. He was a long-standing member of Waynedale Baptist Church, where he met his wife, Deb and married on August 3, 2005. One of his greatest joys in life was singing the gospel with Deb and participating on the church praise and worship team. He loved gardening and was an avid athlete who played basketball and softball well into his fifties. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Roberts-Pointer; children, Ian (Lindsey) Pointer, Derek Pointer, and Cassandra (Brayden) Lucas; bonus children, Celeste (Larry) Savage and Jay (Toni) Nitterhouse; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sisters, Valerie Ferrell and Lisa (Dave) Seidner; and brother, Brad (Kerri) Pointer. Darrell was also preceded in death by his brother, Brett Pointer and sister, Michelle Clement. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Waynedale Baptist Church, 633 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819. In honor of Darrell, memorial contributions may be given to Waynedale Baptist Church.
