David worked at Dana Corporation for 5 years. In his spare time; as a mechanic he enjoyed working on vehicles, watching football, the Colts especially, working on puzzles, playing cards and games, and spending time with family, friends, and his dog.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Ann Ames; his children, Nathaniel Ames, Jessica Overmyer, Jeffrey Ames; his mother, Donna Furthmiller; his sister, Melissa Hensley; and his step-father, Kevin Furthmiller.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services - Highland Park, 2403 E. Wallen Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46825. Visitation will be held from 1pm until 2 pm.
