David J. Eckart, 79, of Avilla, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024. David was born on December 13, 1944 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, son of the late Milan Harold and Agnes Louise (Topp) Eckart. He retired from Deister Machine Company, Inc. after 36 years of service. He is survived by his daughter, Robin Ritchie of Kendallville, Indiana. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 38 year life companion, Susan Claire Parks on October 30, 2017. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46819 with visitation one hour prior.
