

David L. Egts, 70, of Fort Wayne, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, November 12, 2014. He was born on June 30, 1944 to the late Clifford Balyeat and Clementine (Mueller) Balyeat, Sr. He was later adopted by Joseph Egts. David was raised by Joseph and Clementine Egts in Fort Wayne. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a retired Allen County Sheriff’s Deputy. After retirement, he worked for the Fort Wayne City Communications. He also worked at ORCC. He was a member of American Legion Post 296. David enjoyed playing golf and watching hockey, but he most adored his grandchildren and family. Surviving family include his wife, Sandra Egts; sons, Todd (Tania Morris) Egts, Troy (Christina) Egts, Adam (Jessica) White, Chad (Ashley) White; grandchildren, Taylor, Dakota, Eastyn, Logan, Addison, Mackenzie, Camden, Tyler; and his beloved dog, Seamus. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his 1st wife, Joyce Egts, and brother, Michael Egts. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4500 Fairfield Ave., Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 4-8 pm on Monday, November 17, 2014 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne with a vigil and rosary service beginning at 7:30 pm. Memorials may be made to the family.
