He graduated from Bishop Dwenger High School, where he was quarterback for the football team. He went to Ball State University and earned a Master’s Degree in Education. He taught woodworking shop at Jacksonville FL junior high schools for 10 years before returning to Indiana. Dave was a long time former employee of Belmont Liquors, and also was formerly a driver for NAPA autoparts.
He is survived by a brother, Steven Grote, and three sisters, Linda Chase, Anne Grote, and Karen Masbaum.
