David proudly served his country in the US Air Force, and was a police officer in Beavercreek, Ohio, for 7
years, eventually retiring from General Motors in 2009. In his retirement years, he spent his summers working at the KOA campground in Middlebury, Indiana. Dave was a very caring person and his whole goal in life was to bring happiness to the people around him—even strangers.
David is survived by his wife of 29 years, Janice Hottle; and his brother, Steven Hottle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy Hottle.
A Celebration of Life Service to honor David's legacy will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne. Inurnment will be take place at Marion National Cemetery at a later date.
