David Alan Humphreys

David Alan Humphreys, age 65, of Fort Wayne, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022 after battling cancer. Born on November 26, 1956, he was the son of the late Robert Humphreys and Sharon (Pember) Humphreys, who survives. David was a graduate of Elmhurst High School and spent his working years as a journeyman for the Phelps Dodge Magnet Wire Company in Fort Wayne until retiring. His love of sports began in childhood as he participated in Wildcat baseball, becoming the youngest player to play in both the Minor and Major Leagues. Also in his youth, David was a talented figure skater. As an adult, he enjoyed playing golf in his spare time, and often bowled with his co-workers as part of the Phelps Dodge bowling league. He loved playing euchre socially and spent a lot of time at Club Oasis, both receiving support and giving support to others. David is survived by his mother, Sharon Humphreys; daughters, Kristin Ball and Erica (Rob Brantley) Humphreys; and grandsons, Konner David Ball and Kollin Kane Ball. He was preceded in death by his father; and one son, David Alan Humphreys Jr. A memorial gathering for David will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humphreys family.
