David Joseph Kiester

Born on August 5, 1947, in Fort Wayne, David was the son of the late Robert "Bob" Kiester and Mary "Patricia" Kiester. He attended Brunnerdale Seminary in Canton, OH before earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Saint Francis and later completing a Master of Social Work degree from Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN.

David enjoyed a successful career in politics and business before pursuing what would become his life's true calling. Returning to school later in life, he earned his master's degree and dedicated the remainder of his career to helping individuals and families navigate difficult circumstances. His work reflected a deep commitment to serving others, a value that guided him throughout his life.

A devoted member of Trinity Episcopal Church, David was known for his generous spirit, compassionate heart, and unwavering commitment to those in need. He gave freely of his time, talents, and resources, finding great fulfillment in supporting others through both organized service and countless quiet acts of kindness. Whether through his professional work, volunteer efforts, or personal relationships, David's greatest passion was helping people, and his impact will be felt for years to come by the many lives he touched.

He is survived by his children, Christopher (Joy) Kiester and Sarah Lumley, both of Fort Wayne; his two grandchildren, Chloe Kiester and Josef Seale; his sisters, Peg Kiester and Sue (Richard) Keirns, both of Fort Wayne, Terry (John) Sisco of Angola, Indiana, and Kathy (Jim) Faichnie of Toronto, Canada; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Memorial services will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, with service details to be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana or Trinity Episcopal Church.

David will be remembered for a life characterized by generosity, humility, and service to others. His family takes comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on in the countless people he helped, encouraged, and inspired throughout his life.
