David Allen Rigby

David Allen Rigby, 72, passed away October 7, 2025. He was born on May 2, 1953, in South Bend, Indiana, son to the late Stanley Edward and R. Marilyn (Erickson) Rigby. He is mourned by his beloved wife and best friend of 53 years, Mavis Kay (Gilbert) Rigby; children, Hope (Kraig) Lehman of Muncie, Indiana, Amber (Billy) Grosjean of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Wendi (Matt) Donahue of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Faythe (Gumaro) Rodriguez Miranda of Fort Wayne, Indiana, David Rigby, Jr. of Auburn, Indiana, and Ruth-Anne Rigby of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brother, Erick (Denise) Rigby of Bluffton, Indiana; sister, Lynne Ann (Tim) Dankson of Yulee, Florida; grandchildren, Hope (Tristan) Noble, Chase (Breannah) Lehman, Peyton (Audrey) Lehman, Xander Lehman, Aspen Cartwright, Cooper Cartwright, and Sage Donahue; and ten great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Scott A. Rigby and Tracy A. Rigby. David was a hardworking, jack-of-all trades, and enjoyed many careers throughout his life, including seeing the country driving over the road semi-trucks, meeting new people managing Handy Dandy / Lassus BP Convenient Stores as well as driving taxi and limousine for AAA Taxi Service, and enjoying movie time by managing and running the projector at the Decatur Drive-In. He explored his creative side working as a printing press operator at Fast Print as well as freelance printing with his own home printing presses and silk screening machines. He also worked as the catalog manager of the popular Decatur retail store Habegger Schafer in the 80s. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his wife and great grandchildren, tinkering, shopping, and spoiling the cat. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, 2403 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46825, with visitation from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, prior to services.
