

After high school, Dearle proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960 as a plane mechanic. With the same steady work ethic that marked his service, he later owned and operated a used car lot on Spy Run Ave in Fort Wayne for many years.
On February 14, 1969, he married the love of his life, Carol J. (Lantz) Cox. Dearle was a beloved husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, and uncle.
Dearle found joy and camaraderie on the golf course. An avid golfer, he was a member of Noble Hawk golf course for many years and counted many friends there. He also had a love of motorcycles and took pride in the fellowship of community, including as a member of the American Legion Post 409 in Leo, IN.
Dearle is survived by his loving wife, Carol J. Cox; his daughter, Theresa; his granddaughter, Andrea; his four great-grandchildren; his niece, Karen; his nephews, Tom, Mike, and Rick; his great-nieces; and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Allen and Steve; and his sister, Carol.
The family is forever grateful to Parkview Hospice and the nurses at Parkview Hospital.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, June 12, 2026 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home Pine Valley - 1320 E. Dupont Rd., Fort Wayne, IN, 46825 with visitation two hours prior. Burial to follow at Leo Cemetery & Memorial Park, 14600 Leo Rd, Leo, IN 46765.
Memorial contributions in Dearle's name may be made to Parkview Hospice Care, Honor Flight Northeast Indiana, or the donor's choice.
