Deborah A. Melchi, 67, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away at home on June 1, 2022, surrounded by her family and friends, after a courageous and inspiring seven-year battle with cancer. Born on June 14, 1954, in Mayfield, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Bob Hobbs, and Peggy (Apperson) Hobbs, who survives.
Deborah worked as a preschool teacher, and, along with her husband, was the owner of several restaurants here in Fort Wayne through the years, including the Munchie Emporium, and currently the Lucky Turtle Grill. In addition to her mother, also surviving are her husband of 40 years, Mark Melchi; children, Nathan Hobbs, Kris Melchi, Terrell Coleman, Nolan Melchi, Amber Marquart, and Annie (Trevor) Stanley; 10 grandchildren; her brother, Steve Hobbs; and her constant companion, Mellie.
A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 4:00pm on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, with calling from 2:00pm, until time of service.
