Dennis “Denny” E. Braun, 73, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Parkview Hospital following a battle with cancer. He was born on November 1, 1951, in Decatur, Indiana to the late Eugene and Virginia (Cagnet) Braun. Denny married Julie Baxter on May 14, 1977, and she survives.
Denny was a member of Southwest Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne where he served faithfully as head elder. He owned and operated Old Fort Supply in Fort Wayne for eleven years, and was also a food broker and sales manager for many different companies throughout Fort Wayne, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis. Denny was an Indy 500, NASCAR, Colts, Browns, and Notre Dame Football fan, and thoroughly enjoyed running marathons.
Survivors include his two children, daughter, Janelle (Mitchell) Gearhart of Fort Wayne, and son, Brandon (Shannon) Braun of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren, Maddison Gearhart, Mackenzee Gearhart, Parker Gearhart, and Grayson Easterday; five siblings, brother, James (Donette) Braun of Fort Wayne, sister, Dianna (Randall) Vetter of Decatur, brother, John Braun of Decatur, and brother, Shaun (Sheri) Braun of Decatur; brother-in-law, Jim (Sue) Baxter of New Haven; and many loved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Braun of Decatur.
Funeral Service is 10:00 am, Monday, July 7, 2025 at Southwest Lutheran Church, 5120 Homestead Rd, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Interment at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Friends and family will also be received 3 - 6 PM on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at the church.
