Dewayne Alan Rivera

Dewayne Rivera, 35, of Fort Wayne, Ind., passed away on December 10, 2025 at Lutheran Hospital. He was born January 3, 1990 and was a proud graduate of South Side High School, Class of '08. Dewayne worked at BAE Systems for 14 years, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic. Outside of work, he was a member of the Summit City Croozers and served as President of Club Unified while in high school. Dewayne enjoyed riding his Harley, spending time at the shooting range, and expressing himself through tattoos.

Dewayne was full of love and laughter. He had a gift for making people smile and could never be in a room without telling jokes and bringing joy to those around him. Above all else, Dewayne’s children were his world, and he was a devoted and loving father.

He is survived by his daughter, Sofia Rivera; sons, Emanuel Rivera and Benjamin Rivera; brother, Nico (Gabriela) Rivera; sister, Aurora Rivera; mother, Maria Rivera; and father, Eugene Welling. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Emanuel and Aurora Chavarria; and his grandmother, Manuela Rivera.

Dewayne will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him; his laughter, kindness, and spirit will live on through his children, family and friends.

Funeral Service is 4:00 PM, Saturday, December 27, 2025 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior.
