

grandchildren. She was born in Fort Wayne, IN, on December 22, 1942, the
daughter of the late Ervin and Nadyne Recht. Diane was proud of
her service in the US Navy where she served as a Chaplain's assistant. It was
during her time in the military that she met her spouse Patrick Langin, and
spent a wonderful 54 years of marriage together before his passing in December,
2016. Diane shared her gift of humor with everyone she met and filled the room
with laughter. Her life was a true example of faith, sacrifice, generosity, and
true unconditional love for others. Diane had many roles in her life, but above
all else her role as a mother and grandmother is what truly defined her.
Surviving are her children; Michael (Rebecca) Langin, Kathleen (Russell) Werling, John
(Deborah) Langin, William (Caroline) Langin, Joanne (Bradley Houser) Kolkman all
of Fort Wayne;17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson;
daughter-in-law, Michelle Langin; siblings, Jeannine (Christopher) Jelm, Mark
(Jeanine) Recht, Cynthia Recht; Uncle, Martin Tierney; as well as her nieces and
nephews. Diane was preceded in death by her sons, Patrick C. Langin and James
Langin; and brothers, Douglas Recht and Michael Recht. Mass of Christian Burial
is Friday, January 27, 2017 at 10:30am at St. Jude Catholic Church calling 1 hour
prior Visitation at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park
