Don was a longtime member of Carpenters Local 232 and worked for Strahm for many years. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, rebuilding cars, and IU basketball. Don was known for his wonderful sense of humor and generous heart. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Don is survived by his four children, Raymond (Katrina) Chapman of Auburn, Craig (Jodi) Chapman of Fort Wayne, Christy (Tim) Thomas of Naples, Fla., and Patti Abernathy of Fishers; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jaqueline, and grandson, Joseph.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2026, at Highland Park Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 2:30 p.m.
