DONALD E. McKALE, 59, of Fort Wayne, died on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, 9:15 p.m., at St. Joseph Hospital. Born Jan. 3, 1952, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of William McKale and Josephine (Spillers). Surviving are his wife, Susan McKale of Fort Wayne; daughters, Heather McKale, Bobbie (Gaster) Firrie of Greenwood and Melissa (Michael) Lortie; his beloved dog, Peaches; 13 grandchildren; brothers, Bruce McKale and Roger (Sandy) McKale; sisters, Dawn Perkins, Janet Mattix, Nancy (Bill) Smith, and Tina (Greg) Mowery; and stepdaughters, Jennifer Woodward and Brenda (Jeff) Hartman. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Paityn McKale; sister, Linda McKale; and brothers, Terry, Merle, Jerry, Ricky, and Lynn McKale. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St.. Pastor Brian Gerig officiating. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials to the family.
