Donna Marie Thompson

Donna Marie Thompson, age 79, of Grabill, Indiana passed away peacefully on Monday, September 5, 2022 at Parkview Regional Medical Center due to complications from Covid, with her husband, J. Stephen “Steve” Thompson by her side. Donna was born March 20, 1943 in Vancouver British Columbia to the late Ken and Violet Ullyott. She moved to Fort Wayne with her parents in 1958 and graduated from Northside High School and Parkview Nursing School. Donna received her Bachelor of Nursing degree from Purdue University. She was an amazing nurse, including serving ten years as a hospice nurse, who would always advocate for her patients. She loved her roles as daughter, mother, and grandmother. Donna is survived by her husband Steve; son, Billy (Tonya) Welker; grandson, Duncan; granddaughter, Annie; stepchildren, Liesl (Don) Smay, Tina (Errin) Grady, Steve (Dawn) Thompson, John (Jennifer) Thompson, Laura (Trevor) Loxton, and Sarah (Matt) Armey; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Ron (Laurie) Ullyot; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Ken and Violet Ullyott, infant sister, Christina Ullyot; and niece Miriah Herport. Funeral Service is 3 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior. Memorial contributions may be directed to Humane Fort Wayne, 4914 S.
